115- One Night in a Tent by a Lake

all night we freeze
i cough and have to pee
but it’s too cold to leave
the sleeping bags the warm
body of my lover who sleeps
in fits like me by a lake on a
moonless night in February
we wake to sun and small
warmth, eat too many pancakes
and can’t believe the incredible
wealth displayed in our hot cups
of coffee this gratitude warms our
renewed and passionate embraces
on Valentines Day 2010
all this from
sleeping  just one night
near our lost loved ones
those mountain lions
and bald eagles of the soul
