Let’s Make it a Practice

When I am tired
I want to lean into you

with all my spent weight,
to drape on your body

and be like rain
falling into your cup,

to have you contain me,
loan me your shape.

I want to be held
inside of you, to stop

this ridiculous urge
to control, to manage, to tether.

And if you want to puddle, too,
we’ll both puddle and lose

ourselves to the moment
together.
