324–Is That Not Beauty?

“I would hope that we can create a language more fearless and beautiful than that used by conformist writers to greet the twilight.” Eduardo Galeano, 1978 From “Days and Nights of Love and War.”
what beauty lies in the stark truth of our age?
yet is not everything that gorgeous– the face of
a dying child killed by war a painful heart-rending
beauty to change everything if we would look, open
our arms and legs to her skin tear open our clothes
and dress in ashes is that not beauty too?
