And the Time is Now

after Satsang with Joi Sharp, October 20, 2010

And we’re pushed and we’re pushed
and we’re pushed till we break through
the walls and we’re pushed through the dirt,

through the stones, through the roots
of all the other nearby trees, and we’re pushed
and we’re pushed through the crust

to the place where we first meet the sun
and we’re pushed beyond that. Song of stem.
Song of sprout. Song of first green. Song

of leaf. Song of vein. Song of sunlight entering.
Song of darkness still in us. Song of darkness
from the womb. Song of darkness in the bud. Song

of not knowing what we become. Song of root
that burrows deeper. Song of thrusting,
song of bend. And we’re pushed and we’re pushed

and we can not know the end. And we’re pushed
and we’re pushed by what mystery, what fuse?
And we’re pushed and we’re pushed. Beyond

meanings. Beyond right. Beyond how.
Beyond wrong. Darkness in us. Light inside us.
It’s incorruptible, the source. Listen for the song.
