327–I’m Ready Now

poetry inches out now at the end of this
marathon days of rain have replaced the
scorching heat here and hopefully the
long long drought if not we are harvesting
the water that comes by listening to the
sweet messages of the huge eucalyptus
and the tiny soil creatures speaking volumes
in their hundred billion years of survival
i speak dreams store up my own wetness
think about how we will face the future
together my grands, my lover, this ocean
of beauty my mother earth and all her lovers
i’m ready now for this late October day
