Madrugada Musings

I watch the sun push up

a row of dirty gold dissipating

rain clouds at four thirty am

sleepless after too many

interuptions in the night my

fear sometimes needs

the sun the mist off the

lake like night terrors

envelops hope it’s ghosts dance

on the tender water

of what i know and yet doubt

birds begin their chirp and chatter

light changes so many things

a covenant of love uncovers

my capacity to be human

yesterday some judges

decided my love is legal

today rises a little less

fettered though the hate

monging still peppers

facebook comments some

from the very family i love

sometimes i am a woman

of sorrows aquainted with greif

sometimes spirit like my source

i rise and meet the day
